Microinfluencer 2022 PR Haul- Part 1

Hey Beauty Lovers!

It's been a long while since my last post, so I figured it would be fun to show you the PR packages I received in Q1 (January-March).

As a beauty blogger, I get sent quite a few products every month. I haven't been as active on my blog and social media, so I received fewer packages than normal. However, I am really happy that I am sent products even when I suck as an "influencer".

Ok, let's see what came for me these last few months...

Huge MicroInfluencer PR Haul- December 2021

Hello Beauty Lovers!

It's been wayyy too long since my last post, so I decided to start with something that will be fun to write.

A lot of new beauty bloggers have reached out to me on Instagram and asked how I end up getting so many products in PR without having a huge following.

Well, I'm here to show you what I received in PR over the last few months (since August) and how I ended up getting the products.

At the end of this post, I will share some tips about working with brands as a microinfluencer.

January-April 2021 Mega PR Haul

PR Hauls

As a beauty blogger with an active Instagram page, I am sent quite a few beauty products every month to review. I always appreciate every brand that decides to send me their products, and I try to review everything that gets sent my way.

Since I have been MIA since October 2020, I decided to post the PR packages that I received over the last four months. Moving forward, I will only be posting one month of PR at a time, and they will be released on a monthly basis.

I hope you enjoy this post, I really loved writing these mini-reviews!

Four Months of PR

January 2021 BoxyCharm Base Box

I still can't believe that I was put on the BoxyCharm PR list! Every month, BoxyCharm sends me their Base Box to review on Instagram. If you have been following my Instagram page, you know how much I have been loving these boxes. They usually send a nice mix of makeup and skincare, so far there was only one box that didn't include an eyeshadow palette (check out my Instagram page to find out which one). I was pretty impressed with my January 2021 Base Box, I kept everything except the lippies (I gave those to my mom). I will be writing a full unboxing post for all my BoxyCharms soon, so stay tuned!

d'Alba Truffle Spray Set

I'm not actually sure if I posted about the First Spray Serum in a previous PR haul post, because this is the second time that I was sent a truffle spray from d'Alba. Either way, this is the first time that I was sent the Vital Spray Serum and the cute hair wrap. This set came from the brand via Octoly, a great influencer app that I use to get products to review. I actually use both of these sprays as setting sprays after applying makeup, but they are really meant to be used as skincare. I will be posting my full review soon, so stay tuned!

Pixi Holiday Sets

I'm also still shocked that I made my way onto the Pixi PR list! I applied for the Pixi list a few years ago and products just started showing up at my door at the end of last year. Pixi was kind enough to send out two of their holiday gift sets from the 2020 holiday collection. You can actually still get these gift sets at Ulta, but they are currently half off on the Pixi website. Both sets include mini-sized skincare products, and at their current price, they are definitely worth a try. The sets shown above: Let's Glow Gift Set (now $12) and Multi-Toning Gift Set (now $11).

February 2021 BoxyCharm Base Box

I was super excited to see what would come in the February Base Box, subscription boxes usually include a lot of pink and hearts in their February boxes. BoxyCharm did not disappoint! We got the cutest heart brush set, a nail oil with floating hearts, and a very romantic palette. I kept everything from this box, and I have been loving all the products. Stay tuned for my full unboxing!

Okay, I think this is my favorite BoxyCharm box so far! We got so many great brands in the March Base Box, and the palette is absolutely stunning. I have a post dedicated to this palette over on Instagram, so go check out the beautiful swatches. I kept everything from this box except the KAB lip oil (again, I gave this one to my mom). I'm very excited to finally have a moisturizer from Glow Recipe to try! The unboxing will be coming to the blog soon, so don't miss it.

Lancome Lash Idole

I was sent this super mini mascara by the brand via Bzzagent. I actually really enjoy getting mini mascaras because they usually go bad on me before I get to use up a full one. The Lash Idole is amazing! I love the wand and the formula, and I never have any flakes when I use this mascara. I may end up purchasing a full size of this.

Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color

I was sent this by the brand via Influenster. This is the first Tom Ford product that I have tried, and I was honestly more obsessed with the packaging than the lipstick. I was sent the Ultra Shine Lip Color in the shade Nubile, which is a very neutral shade. The white component is stunning, and this lipstick looks so beautiful on my vanity. I am very happy to have this one in my collection, even though the shade itself didn't wow me.

Glow Recipe Glow Lip Pop

Another Glow Recipe product! I'm always so happy to get trendy brands to try out, and the Lip Pop was sent as a new release item. I was sent this lip balm by the brand via Octoly. The Lip Pop I was sent was in the shade/flavor Watermelon, and it smelled amazing! This lip balm is unique because it contains AHAs to help exfoliate the lips while providing a boost of hydration. There are also physical exfoliants included in the lip balm which help keep my lips smooth. I almost forgot, the lip balm also gives a nice tint of color!

Ayr Skin Care

I actually reached out to this brand because I was interested in their products and impressed with their ethical sourcing of ingredients. They were kind enough to send over their Serenity Balancing Blue Tansy Facial Oil (blue tansy oil is one of my favorites for the PM), their Pure Moisture Nourishing Face Cream (so far I love this), their Tranquility Moisturizing Hand Cream (I like to use this before bed to combat all the hand washing I have been doing), and their Dead Sea Spa Body Bar (this soap is less stripping than regular hand soap). My full review for the brand is coming to my Instagram page this week, so don't miss it!

Peach Slices Snail Rescue Line

Peach Slices, a sub-brand of Peach & Lily, reached out to me and asked me to review their new Snail Rescue Line. I have been wanting to try the brand out for a while, so of course, I jumped on the opportunity. They sent over the All-In-One Oil Free Moisturizer (a great option for oily skin), the Blemish Busting Toner (this is one of the thinnest snail mucin toners I have ever tried), and the Intensive Wash-Off Mask (I absolutely love this mask). I will be writing a full review for my Instagram page and my blog soon, so stay tuned!

Dr. Zenovia Skincare PR

I'm not sure how I ended up on the Dr. Zenovia Skincare PR list, but I am so happy to receive a PR package from the brand every month! We are usually sent two products at a time, but in March we received three items in the box. I was kindly sent the 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Spot Treatment (I love this spot treatment so much), the Retinol Recovery Eye Cream (this is my second tube that they sent over, you can check out my min review here), and the Inflam-Aging Night Repair Treatment (I haven't tried this yet, I'm currently using their retinol overnight treatment). If you are looking for a sophisticated skincare line that will keep your skin smooth and youthful, definitely check out the Dr. Zenovia skincare brand.

Skinfix Barrier+ Line

I was sent these products from Skinfix via Octoly. This is a new to Sephora brand with a dedicated line that focuses on healing and strengthening the skin barrier. They kindly sent over the Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser (I have been using this in the AM and I love how gentle it feels), the Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Face Lotion (I haven't tried this yet, but it's next on my list for an AM moisturizer), and the Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Boost 360° Eye Cream (I am still trying to figure out if I like this eye cream, I'm not sure if it is doing much for me yet). I'm really loving the packaging of the Barrier+ line, blue is one of my favorite colors and the bottles feel very sleek.

Skinn PR

I actually reached out to Skinn because I heard so many amazing things about their skincare products. They were kind enough to send me a few products to try out, and I have been loving the brand as much as everyone else on Instagram. Skinn sent over the Divine Elixir Luminous Skin Facial Cleansing Oil (I am almost out of my current cleansing oil, this one is going to be used next), the Non-Negotiables Dermappeal Microdermabrasion Treatment (this exfoliator is amazing! I have been using it twice a week and my skin feels so smooth), and the Divine Elixir Luminous Skin Lip Oil (this is an amazing lip treatment that keeps my lips so soft). I have been loving the exfoliator and the lip oil so far, and I can't wait to try the cleansing oil!

Farmacy New Launch

To help get the word out about the new Farmacy launch, the brand sent me the Filling Good Hyaluronic Acid Plumping Serum to review via Octoly. I haven't tried this serum out yet, but I absolutely love everything that I've ever tried from Farmacy. I have way too many serums open right now, so I won't be trying this serum out just yet. Keep an eye on my Instagram page for any updates.

Vely Vely Yuja C-Tamin Toner

I was sent this toner via 08L to review. I requested the Yuja C-Tamin Toner because I love to layer brightening skincare products in the AM, and I don't have a toner like this in my skincare stash. The toner comes in a beautiful pump bottle which is very on-brand for Vely Vely. If I end up liking the Yuja C-Tamin Toner, I may pick up the matching serum to try out. I will try to update you soon!

Pureology Strength Cure Blonde Set

You may not know this, but I have been dying my hair blonde since I was 16 years old. I used to get frustrated when my hair turned orange when I dyed it at home, but then I learned about purple shampoo. If your hair turns orange or brassy after dying it blonde, you need the Strength Cure Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner. This set will transform your hair into a beautiful blonde color without having to run to a hair salon for an expensive fix. So far, I'm really enjoying this duo!

Tia'm Skincare PR

I have been wanting to try Tia'm skincare for a while now, so I reached out to the brand and asked for a collaboration. I was able to choose one product from their website, and I chose the Snail & Azulene Sleeping Mask. Based on my skin type and concerns, the brand also sent over the Snail & Azulene Water Essence and the VitaA Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer. So far I only tried the sleeping mask, and I love it! I will be posting a first impressions review on my Instagram page, so follow me there if you want a sneak peek.

April's Base Box was very makeup-heavy. I am definitely not complaining, we got a Natasha Denona palette! However, I did give my mom 3/5 items from this box. She would have gotten more use out of the primer, highlighter, and body wash, so I sent them to her after I posted my unboxing photo on Instagram. I'm really happy that I kept the eyeshadow palette though, it has the best work-friendly color story. So far, I have been using the Natasha Denona palette the entire May!

Dr. Zenovia Skincare PR

I got two repeat products in April from Dr. Zenovia Skincare, but I'm definitely not complaining! I absolutely love both of them! In addition to the 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Spot Treatment, we also received the Aloe Vera Blemish Soothing Moisturizer. The moisturizer is one of my favorite daytime moisturizers, and I'm really happy that we were sent a backup! Again, I will be posting a Dr. Zenovia review soon so sign up for my newsletter down below or keep an eye on my Instagram stories for an update.

Anacis Vela Contour Set

This is the second time that I received this product to review via Tomoson. The Vela Contour set comes with a sheet mask and mini cream. The sheet mask goes all the way down the neck to help firm the face and neck area. The cream is applied after the sheet mask to give your skin a 4D plumping effect. I really enjoy the sheet masks and the cream a lot. I previously received the cream in the full size, and I used up the entire tube! I highly recommend this set for aging skin, it will get everything feeling nice and firm.

Sunday Riley New Launch

I was sent the new launch from Sunday Riley via Octoly. I was really excited to get my hands on a Sunday Riley product, I absolutely love the Luna Oil so I knew that I would love the Light Hearted Sun Screen. This product reminds me of all my favorite K-Beauty sunscreens, the formula is very lightweight and sophisticated. I also love that they included great skincare ingredients to help improve your skin with every use. If you are a Sunday Riley fan, this is the sunscreen for you!

elmt New Launch

As a Wishtrend affiliate, I am sent many of their products to review. They recently launched a new brand called elmt, and I was sent two of their amazing toners to test out. The Skin Activating Solution is made with green tea to help reduce inflammation, and the Skin Illuminating Solution is made with antioxidants and skin brightening ingredients. These toners can also be used in place of serum if you have oily skin. You can use the code MIRIAM15 for 15% off your Wishtrend order. Also, you can sign up for the Wishtrend Affiliate program here.

Rare Beauty New Launch

I was also fortunate enough to be sent the new Rare Beauty launch via Octoly. The new Always An Optimist Pore Diffusing Primer is absolutely amazing for normal to oily skin. I used this primer for a few weeks already, and it really made my skin look amazing under makeup. I will be using this more in the future, so keep an eye on my Instagram feed!

Final Thoughts

I am so grateful for all the lovely products that made their way to my doorstep these last few months! Everything that I've tested has been amazing so far, and I can't wait to try the rest.

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the new products that I plan to review, keep an eye on my Instagram stories for more PR boxes that are coming my way.

September 2020 PR Haul

>>A Huge Thank You<<

One of the biggest perks Beauty Bloggers get is PR and gifts from brands. I don't know where this blog would be without the products that brands send me to review.

If I had all the money in the world, I would of course buy all the beauty products that I want to test, but alas, I am broke. I need brands to send me their latest products so that I have enough content to post.

As you can see from my Instagram page, I rely on brands quite a bit. However, I never give any false reviews. If I hate a product, I do not talk about it on my page or blog. Period.

Well, if I do talk about a product, you know that I love it.

So, a huge thank you to the brands that sent me products last month. I was fortunate enough to have gotten 20 packages in the mail!

Do you want to see what was sent my way?

>>September PR Haul<<

1. Pixi Beauty PR Box- I actually signed up to be on the Pixi PR list years ago. I waited pretty patiently, and I was finally put on the list! The first box that I received was the Fall 2020 makeup collection. What a fantastic first PR package from Pixi! I was sent the two new eyeshadow palettes (Eye Effects Palette in Hazelnut Haze and Eye Effects Palette in Rosette Ray) and the two new face palettes (Nuance Quartette Palette in Honey Nectar and Nuance Quartette Palette in Sugar Blossom). I have a full review of the products here.

2. Acure Beauty PR Box- Acure skincare has been on my radar for a while now. I kept seeing their products at Target, and I wanted to give them a try. So I reached out to the brand, and they let me choose four products from their site! The products I received: the Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil, the Brightening Vitamin C & Ferulic Acid Oil Free Serum, the Ultra Hydrating Green Juice Cleanser, and the Resurfacing Inter-Gly-Lactic Peel Pads. I love when brands let me choose the products I want to try. Reviews of these products are coming soon!

3. Nuria PR Package- I love it when new brands reach out to me and send me their products. Nuria contacted me via Instagram and then sent over two of their products. They sent the Defend Purifying Bubble Mask and the Hydrate Replenishing Biocellulose Mask. I am really excited to try these, and I will update you soon! I will have my first review on Instagram, so don't forget to follow my page.

4. Earth Harbor Helios Ampoule- I wanted to try Earth Harbor products, so I reached out to the brand. They let me choose a product that I wanted to try, and I chose the Helios Anti-Polution Youth Ampoule. I actually just started using this in the PM, and I have been loving it! The ampoule is very thick, so keep that in mind!

5. Ample:N Peptide Shot Ampoule- A influencer platform reached out to me with this opportunity. I of course said yes, and I received the Peptide Shot Ampoule.  Honestly, this is one of the coolest ampoules I ever tried. It has peptide fibers in the ampoule that you can actually see. The fibers melt into the skin, but they feel really interesting at first. I have been using this in the AM, and I will give an update soon!

6. Muddy Body Detox Clay Mask- I absolutely love clay masks, so I reached out to Muddy Body and they sent me their Detox Clay Mask and Brush.  It's a fantastic mask, and I love to use it weekly. They are having a huge sale right now, and I have a code for 15% off (mimwieds). I definitely recommend the brand!

7. Cali-Kay Products- It's almost time for my 2020 Holiday Gift Guide, and this year's small shops are sending me their best products. Included this year is Cali-Kay fragrances. I am so excited to share these products with you, I will be posting my full review of the shop this week! This package includes candles, wax melts, soaps, and a bath bomb. Everything smells amazing, and I am positive that you will love them!

8. Physicians Formula PR Package- I have been a huge fan of Physicians Formula for so long, so I finally reached out to them. They sent me a box filled with products, and I am so excited to test them all out! Everything they sent me is shown in the photo above except an eyeshadow quad that sadly came shattered. Products shown: the Coconut Milk Eye Makeup Remover, the Lash Mixologist Mascara, the Murumuru Butter Bronzer. the Triple Defense Multicolor Stick SPF 20, the Setting the Tone Finishing Powder SPF 20, the Eye Boost Gel Eyeliner Trio, the Natural Defense Total Coverage Concealer SPF 30, the Natural Defense Sheer Line Of Defense Foundation SPF 30, and the Perfect Matcha 3-in-1 Beauty Water. The full review for these products is coming up this month!

9. Merkaela Essentials Summer 2020 Box- I reached out to Merkaela for my upcoming 2020 Holiday Gift Guide, and they were kind enough to send me their Essentials Summer 2020 Box. I haven't unboxed this yet, so I don't actually know what's inside! I will be unboxing this on my IG page in November, so go check the page out.

10. Pumpkin & Spice Facial Scrub- If you don't know me, I am obsessed with pumpkin spice everything in the fall. Of course, I just had to reach out to this new skincare brand called Pumpkin & Spice! They asked me to pick a product to review, and I decided to choose the scrub. I have a review up on my IG page, but spoiler alert, I love it so much!

11. Hemp Crate Furry Friends Starter Box- So I reached out to Hemp Crate because I wanted to include them in my 2020 Holiday Gift Guide. Unfortunately, they sent me the Furry Friends box and not the regular box. In addition, they sent me the dog version when I told them that I have a cat. I'm not sure what to do with all the dog products, but at least they included some CBD products for humans too!

12. Kin of My Skin White Truffle Sheet Masks- This is another new skincare brand that reached out to me last month. They sent over a box of their new White Truffle sheet masks, and I actually tried one already. The mask was pretty nice, and it felt very luxe. My full review will be coming soon!

13. Baby Face Diary September 2020 Box- I reached out to Baby Face Diary because I wanted to include them in my 2020 Holiday Gift Guide. They were kind enough to send me the September 2020 Mystery Fun Box (bag). I loved their theme of the month, and you can check out my unboxing on Instagram.

14. Toi:L PR Package- Another new brand that reached out to me. They sent me two products, a box of their Extra Silky Foot Mask Gloves and their Extra Silky Hand Mask Gloves. I am really excited to try these. I used to use foot and hand masks all the time, but I sadly haven't had any in my skincare stash for the last few years. These look very promising and the packaging is super cute!

15. Loops Double Take Sheet Mask Set- I received these masks via Octoly. I applied to the campaign and received a box (bag) of the Double Take sheet masks and one sample of the Lip mask. The masks are very high quality but cost as much as the mid-range masks. I am overall very impressed with these, and the bag that comes with them is adorable.

16. Morganna Serum Set- I was sent these to review via Tomoson. I was sent these three serums to test out from Morganna's Alchemy. I love natural skincare, so I thought I would give these a chance. I was sent the Lemon Drops Serum, the Illuminate Pea Peptides Serum, and the Water Drops Serum. I actually really like these serums, and I can't wait to review them for you. Follow me on Instagram for my first review that's coming this week.

17. Herbal Face Food PR Package- This brand reached out to me and sent me a few of their products. They sent over the book that the CEO of the brand wrote; The Self Health Revolution. They also sent over two of their herbal serums, the Serum I and The Cure. These two are very potent, but they are made with the most amazing ingredients! I can't wait to share this brand with you, they are truly remarkable.

18. Dermafirm PR Package- As part of my ever-loving relationship with DermaFirm, they kindly sent over some products for my husband and toddler. They sent the Bio Eye Defense, the Sun Defense Fluid, and the Infinite Fluid for Homme. The eye cream and moisturizer are for my husband, and the sunscreen was sent for my toddler. They haven't tried these yet, but I will be updating you soon!

19. Avajar Elasticity A-Solution Masks- I was sent these masks via 08L. Of course, I apply to every sheet mask campaign that I see. I love sheet masks! I was sent the Elasticity A-Solution Masks and they are amazing. I love how soaked they are, and my skin looked radiant after one use! I definitely recommend these.

20. Managerine Sampler Box- I reached out to the Managerine Subscription Box to see if they wanted to be included in my 2020 Holiday Gift Guide. They kindly sent over a sampler box, and I love everything they included! I am honestly impressed with this box, and I can't wait to write my full review. If you know any female managers or Boss Babes, you need to get them a subscription to this box!

>>Final Thoughts<<

This post took a lot longer to write than I anticipated! I guess I didn't realize how many products were sent to me last month before I started...

August 2020 PR Haul

>>A Huge Thank You<<

As a beauty blogger, I am sent quite a few products to test out. Some products I request from the company via and influencer-type platform and other products are sent to me by the company after they find my blog or Instagram page.

Either way, I am always so grateful to be sent products to test, it really does provide me with enough content for daily Instagram posts. Imagine how much money I would need to purchase everything I talk about!

Although products are regularly sent to me, I always provide an honest review. I never want to lose your trust, so I will never give a bad product a good review. If anything, I just wouldn't mention the product on my blog or IG page!

That being said, let's get to the products I received in PR last month...

>>August PR Haul<<

1. Mother Made All Green Tea-rouble-away Toner- I was sent this product via 0.8L, an app that allows bloggers and influencers to request products to review. I have been using this toner twice a day, and I have been loving it! This wasn't my first time trying skincare from Mother Made, I honestly enjoy everything I tried from the brand so far.

2. InstaNatural Multivitamin C Serum- I was sent this serum by the brand via Tomoson. I always apply for InstaNatural products on Tomoson. They work really well for my skin, and I love that they use natural ingredients. If you are looking for a great natural skincare brand, check out InstaNatural products!

3. Dermafirm/BIOTOC Gift- BIOTOC sent me a beautiful PR package a few months ago, and I have been loving their products ever since! They interviewed me after I received my PhD last month, and as a thank you, they sent me some extra goodies. They sent over 5 Dermafirm sheet masks, 5 cartridges for their Nanopen, and one of their fantastic Ampoules. I'm so happy that they sent these to me, I really love the brand!

4. d'Alba First Spray Serum- I was sent this by the brand via Tomoson. I have been wanting to try this mist for a while now, so I was happy that the brand decided to send it to me to review. I was a little surprised that this was called a serum. I would call it a toner or hydrating face mist. It is definitely not a serum. Regardless, I really enjoyed using it as a toner!

5. The Daily Sheet Mask PR- My friend on Instagram started selling sheet masks! To celebrate, she sent out some PR packets with a sampling of the types of masks she offers. As you can see, she has a nice range of affordable and mid-range sheet masks for sale. I'm so happy that she sent over some masks that I've never tried!

6. Beautree Blemish Calming Treatment Pads- I was sent this product by the brand via 0.8L. I actually really love these pads. They are very gentle, but they keep my mascne away! Some people that reviewed these said it burned their skin, so be careful if you have sensitive skin!

7. Revivserums Revivinol Serum- I was sent this serum by the brand via Tomoson. I am a little obsessed with retinol, but it can be very irritating. There is also the dreaded retinol purge when you start using it for the first time. The Revivinol Serum is a great retinol alternative that will help with fine lines and texture without any irritation or acne! I really recommend this serum!

8. SEVIZ Bluetooth Retro Speaker- I was sent this speaker by the brand via 0.8L. Okay, I know this isn't a beauty product, but I use it to listen to the Double Cleanse podcast while doing my skincare routine, so it definitely counts for something! Seriously though, this is a super cute speaker.

>>Final Thoughts<<
