New Fall 2020 Pixi Makeup

>>Pixi PR<<

Pixi by Petra is one of the most generous brands in the US. They send PR to small beauty bloggers, and they have the cutest PR packages ever!

I have been wanting to get on the Pixi PR list for about two years, and I finally received a PR package in the mail a few weeks ago!

I was so surprised because they never told me that I made it onto the list!

Needless to say, I was over the moon happy, and I immediately took some photos for my Instagram stories:

They included some cute stencils for swatches, but I ended up giving them to my daughter. She created some very pretty Pixi drawings with the stencils!

How beautiful are these palettes? I love the green packaging!

We got two beautiful eyeshadow palettes and two face palettes with Fall color stories. Each palette comes in heavy packaging and includes a huge mirror. I am super impressed with the quality of the palettes, I honestly didn't expect luxe packaging from Pixi.

Here is the photo I used for my Instagram feed:

Are you ready for the shade names and swatches? Let's get right into the palettes...

>>New Pixi Makeup<<

The Nuance Quartette Palette in Honey Nectar ($16) includes four face products in largeish pans. There is a blush, a bronzer, and two shimmery highlights. The highlighters are actually really pretty and not the typical white shade.

These four powders are meant to be used on the eyes and face, but I personally enjoy these as face palettes. You can also layer the powders for a customized look.

Let's look at some swatches:

This palette worked very well for my light skin tone, and I think it would work well for fair skin tones as well. I definitely wouldn't pick this one up if you have skin that is medium are darker, the shades may not show up at all.

I chose this palette for my weekly makeup picks last week (photo down below), and the color stayed on all day. I didn't use the bronzer shade on days that I had to wear a mask, but I used the blush and gold highlight.

Top Row: Nectar (blush) & Honey (golden shimmer)
Bottom Row: Syrum (bronzer) & Ambrosia (pink shimmer)

The Nuance Quartette Palette in Sugar Blossom ($16) also contains four face powders, but the shades are a little deeper for this one. Unfortunately, these face palettes are not suitable for very deep skin tones, but I am hopeful that they will expand their range.

And here are the swatches:

This palette was slightly too dark for my light skin. In my opinion, it would be great for medium skin tones only. I may have to gift this to my mother, she has medium skin.

Top Row: Blossom (blush) & Sugar (gold shimmer)
Bottom Row: Rosewood (bronzer) & Petal (pink shimmer)

The Eye Effects Palette in Hazelnut Haze ($22) includes 9 super-blendable, neutral shades. There is a nice mix of mattes, shimmers, and satins in the palette, and I think the colors are perfect for the Fall!

Now that I'm teaching, I have been loving neutral palettes for every day looks. I have chosen this palette for my weekly makeup picks two weeks ago (photo down below), and I was able to create an entire week of makeup looks with this palette alone!

Some beautiful swatches:

I am really surprised by how easy these shadows applied. They are very pigmented but blend effortlessly. I was expecting more drugstore quality, but instead, I got Huda Beauty vibes! Pixi is definitely stepping it up!

Top Row: Cream (matte), Gold (shimmer), Neutral (satin)
Middle Row: Bark (matte), Sage (shimmer), Bronze (shimmer)
Bottom Row: Russet (matte), Copper (shimmer), Deep (matte)

The Eye Effects Palette in Rosette Ray ($22) has more of a rose-tone color story, but it's also amazing for the Fall season. I haven't used this palette yet, but the swatches are stunning! Again, I am getting major Huda Beauty vibes with the 9-pan layout and eyeshadow quality.

And here are the swatches:

I really do love rose-tone shadows, so I am sure that I'm going to enjoy this palette. I'm going to have to use the most neutral looking shades for days that I see my students, but I can already see which shades I would pick. Overall, a very versatile palette.

Top Row: French Rose (satin), Ice (shimmer), Glow (shimmer)
Middle Row: Plum (matte), Mocha (shimmer), Wine (shimmer)
Bottom Row: Berry (satin), Mushroom (satin), Black Tulip (matte)

Honestly, the shade names for this palette do not match the actual shades. It is a little confusing!

>>Final Thoughts<<

Overall, I love everything that Pixi sent over in this PR package. I wish that the face palette shades worked for deeper skin tones, but you will have to decide for yourself if you want to support the Pixi brand.

I already used the Hazelnut Haze eyeshadow palette and Honey Nectar face palette this month. Check out my weekly makeup picks Instagram photos:
