Hey Beauty Lovers!
I am happy to be reviewing the Earthen Skincare InstantPeel* for you today. The InstantPeel is a best seller from Earthen, and now I know why!
I am a huge believer in chemical exfoliation, but I also love physical exfoliation. The InstantPeel is both a powerful chemical exfoliant as well as a gentle physical exfoliant in one product. I am absolutely obsessed with this peel, and I am so thankful that I was sent this product to review!
First, let me talk a little about the brand. Earthen Skincare is a luxury natural skincare brand. All their products are made in small batches, and their packaging is next-level status. The InstantPeel is a unique peel formulated to help skin achieve a natural glow. The peel is the original Earthen Skincare product, and they have since added a whole skincare regiment to their website. If you are looking for effective natural skincare, I highly recommend checking out the Earthen Skincare website.
The back of the box stated that the InstantPeel is a gentle peel, and it is safe for use on most of the body. I am always worried that gentle peels won't be tough enough to exfoliate my skin, so I kept my expectations low.
With its simple and minimal ingredients list, I was a little skeptical that this peel would work. I was also pretty shocked that they included Shrimp Extract in a skincare product, but I was excited to give the peel a chance.
Ingredients:
Distilled Water, Calcium Carbonate, Shrimp Extract, Diazolidinyl Urea, Citric Acid, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Lodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Propylene Glycol, Dimethyl Mea, Fish Oil, Panthenol.
This peel is safe to use on the face and the body, so I used the extra product in the packet for my neck and hands.
If you have never used a peeling solution before, I would recommend testing the product on a smaller section of your skin before exfoliating your whole face (called patch testing).
It's a good idea to patch test all new skincare products, but a peel is especially important to patch test.
The directions state to use the peel while in the shower, but you can use it after the shower as well. I personally hate to wet my face in the shower, so I didn't test the peel in the shower.
I did use the peel on steam softened skin, and I followed to rest of the directions as they are written.
At the end of the directions, there are additional product recommendations from the brand. I haven't tried the products listed, but I followed up with my regular skincare routine and my skin felt silky smooth!
So far, I've tried this peel twice. Once on skin that was regularly exfoliated and once on skin that wasn't exfoliated in two weeks.
I actually preferred using this peel on skin when I didn't exfoliate for two weeks. I loved the feeling of absolutely smooth skin after my skin felt so rough for weeks. I don't know about you, but I love the instant gratification of an effective exfoliator.
When Earthen Skincare states that this is a gentle exfoliator, they are not lying. This peel is so gentle that I didn't know that it exfoliated my skin when I used it with my regular exfoliators!
If you do regularly exfoliate your skin, I would recommend using this peel once a month. If you never exfoliate your skin, I would recommend following the directions from Earthen Skincare.
I honestly think that this peel would be safe to use on all skin types, and I actually recommend this peel over other chemical exfoliants if you have sensitive skin.
I am really looking forward to using the other four peels that came in the box, and I will be adding the InstantPeel to my wish list for the future.
