Hey Everyone! So this post was supposed to go up on Monday, but I haven't been feeling well (pregnancy related) so I missed two days of blogging. Today I'm going to be reviewing the Caudalie Grape Water ($13 for the pink limited edition bottle purchased at Sephora). I originally purchased this as part of a set with the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, review linked here. In this review I'm going to be mentioning the Nurture Me facial water from Ole Henriksen ($22 purchased at Sephora), the Moisture Bound Skin Energy Hydration Delivery System from AmorePacific ($35 at Sephora), and the Rosewater Balancing Mist by Jurlique ($35 at Sephora). Let's begin:
First up is the highlight of this post: the Caudalie Grape Water. This product comes in a spray can that provides a fine mist that is easy to apply. It is made of grape water that is supposed to be very hydrating, help sooth sensitive skin, and provide some anti-aging benefits. I mainly use it after cleansing my skin and before applying serums or dry oils. I find that it helps prep my skin for the rest of my routine. I like that you can apply it throughout the day, even after applying makeup. Yes, I've tested this out on a full face of makeup, and it does NOT ruin anything. The one thing I really hate about this product is that it STINKS for a few seconds. I'm really serious, it is the worst smell in the world. However, it has helped my skin so much that I really think it's worth it. I really try to hold my breath as long as possible, and then just deal with a second or two of the horrible odor. I have been buying bottle after bottle of this facial water (I'm actually getting a backup today). I have tried other facial waters/mists (more on that below), but so far I keep returning to this simple Caudalie product.
Next up is this great facial water from Ole Henriksen. I know that this post is about the Grape Water, but I really do like this facial water too. It is also very soothing and hydrating. It is infused with cucumber, chamomile, and ProVitamin B5. The plastic spray bottle is one of the things that I really don't like about this product. It is not as fine a mist as the Grape Water and I find that it ruins makeup when applied throughout the day. I really do like the smell though. It is very fresh and clean. I'm not sure if I will repurchase this water again since I did not see any long term effects while using this product.
Next up is the Moisture Bound Skin Energy Hydration Delivery System from AmorePacific (damn that's a long name). I got two of these mini bottles (plastic) as a sample from Sephora (VIB Rougue gift). So far I've used an entire bottle, and I really love how hydrating this spray feels. It has a very fine mist, but I find that it actually dries my skin out when applying over makeup. It smells pleasantly botanical, and I will definitely be using the second bottle. It's a little pricey, but if you are suffering from dry skin, give this product a try!
Finally we have the Rosewater Balancing Mist from Jurlique. This facial mist comes in a glass spray bottle that is super cute. I got 3 minis of this facial waters as samples from Sephora, and I just finished my last bottle. I'm actually really upset that I didn't buy any backups in my last Sephora order because this is seriously a great product. It is great for all skin types and the smell is of heavenly roses. I really love how soft and smooth my face feels when using this product, but I don't like using it on top of makeup. I just sprayed some on my hand, and I can't stop touching my skin! It's really amazing. I have to get a new one ASAP.
There are some great facial waters on the market right now. While this post is not an exhaustive review, the ones listed are all really amazing. The only reason I keep returning to the Caudalie Grape Water is because I find it works on top of makeup. I hope this review helped some of you.
