Hey Beauty Lovers!
I know I have been raving about so many Vitamin C serums lately, but I just can't get enough of this amazing ingredient! Vitamin C is so amazing for your skin, it will brighten the skin, fade any discoloration, help clear up acne, promote collagen production, and help protect the skin from sun damage. There is a lot of controversy about how effective the different forms of Vitamin C are in skincare, but all the skincare experts agree that a Vitamin C serum is essential for glowing skin.
The GloriSkin Organic Vitamin C Serum* is formulated with a very stable and natural form of Vitamin C: Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP). With SAP, this serum will not go bad within a few months of opening a bottle. To prove this, GloriSkin did not include any dyes in their serum. Most Vitamin C serums contain an orange dye to help mask any degradation associated discolorations over time. A clear serum is a very bold move in the Vitamin C world, and I applaud this natural skincare brand for their courage.
Ingredients:
Organic herbal infusion (Gotu Kola, dandelion, geranium, horsetail), organic aloe barbadensis leaf juice (aloe vera), sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C), MSM, botanical hyaluronic acid, witch hazel, d-alpha tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), Carbomer, amino complex, enolic acid, Kosher vegetable glycerin, Jojoba oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl hexyl glycerin.
In addition to being a fantastic Vitamin C serum, this product also contains Citrus Stem Cells, Ferulic Acid, Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid, Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, and Jojoba Oil. This combination of ingredients works wonders for problematic skin, and is the perfect skincare addition for anyone suffering from acne, acne scars, dryness, aging skin, and sun damaged skin.
The directions state to apply this serum to damp skin after cleansing, followed by a moisturizer twice a day. I like to use this serum in the AM only after toner/essence, and before any other serums. Usually, I apply my skincare products from thinest to thickest consistency, but I like to apply this serum before any other serums no matter the consistency. This is because I like to ensure my Vitamin C products get as close to my skin as possible. I use a jade roller to press my serums into my skin, but you can skip this step if you are pressed for time in the AM. I use Vitamin C serums in the AM only to give my skin a boost of antioxidants before going out into the sun. You can follow my technique, or you can simply use this serum the way it was intended.
As you can see from the photo above, this serum is quite thick and colorless. I think the consistency is perfect for spreading the product without tugging on the skin. It feels very hydrating alone, but I highly recommend following up with a moisturizer. The hydrating feeling doesn't last long, and once the product dries, the skin actually feels quite sticky!
Overall, I'm really impressed with this product! I have used many Vitamin C serums in the past, both affordable and high end, and this serum is comparable to the high end products sold at Sephora. If I had to choose one Vitamin C serum from my collection to use the rest of my life, this one would win hands down! Not only is it a very effective serum, it is less than $20, very accessible (you can get it from Amazon), made from organic ingredients, and the brand is cruelty-free!
I highly recommend trying this serum out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!
