Hey Beauty Lovers!
"I have enough makeup brushes," said no one, ever. Whether you are new to makeup or a veteran makeup junkie, there is always room for another set of quality makeup brushes in your collection. It's always a plus when the set only costs $16! I have always been curious about the quality of the makeup brushes I see on Amazon, and I can never tell if the glowing reviews have been bought. I decided to apply to Babi Bear makeup brush campaign to see if there was actually such a thing as an affordable makeup brush set. While I did get this brush set for free to review, I am not obligated to provide a positive review, and I will be giving you my honest opinion.
I decided to do a full face of makeup using only this set to really test the quality of the brushes (photo below). I did first wash the brushes using the brush cleaner, and let them air dry. I noticed slight shedding for a few of the brushes while they were being washed, but I didn't notice any shedding after they completely dried. The brushes themselves are extremely soft! This set includes 15 brushes and 3 extra products. I will be going through all the items in the set give you my first impressions.
What you get in this 18-piece set:
- Foundation brush- I didn't try this one yet, but it looks promising. I hate applying my foundation with a brush.
- Blusher brush- I didn't try this one yet, but it looks promising.
- Blending brush- I used this on my lower lash line and it worked well to blend my shadows.
- Large Eye Shadow brush- I liked using this brush to set my primer with a light shadow, it was large enough to cover my entire lid easily and quickly.
- Powder brush- I tried using this to powder my face, but it was horrible. I ended up having to use my regular powder brush. I did like it for applying blush.
- Contour brush- This was great at applying contour! I was pretty surprised! I blended the color out using the Powder brush (before blush of course).
- Concealer brush- I actually used this brush to blend out the harsh edges of my shadow. I don't use concealer other than under my eyes, and that I always apply with a sponge.
- Bronzing brush- I used this for my crease shade and it was perfect. I'm not sure what they mean by Bronzing brush, but I always use my brushes the way I want.
- Angled Foundation brush- I didn't try this one yet, but it looks promising.
- Small Eye Shadow brush- I loved this brush for packing on color all over my lid. It was the perfect size.
- Flat Angled Eyebrow brush- I apply my brows with a pencil, so I used this to highlight my brow bone instead. It worked really well.
- Lip brush- I didn't try this one yet, but it looks promising. I don't usually use a lip brush.
- Fan brush- This fan brush was fantastic. I did have a lot of issues with it keeping its beautiful fan shape, but it still applied highlighter flawlessly.
- Precision Concealer brush- I used this to apply shadow to my outer v. I'm not sure how it will perform as a concealer brush, but it worked really well as a shadow brush.
- Angled Eyebrow brush- I actually used this brush to line my lower lashes. It worked really well.
- Makeup Sponge- OMG I hated this sponge. It was literally a rock even when wet. It didn't really expand, and it had a horrible odor. I would recommend tossing this sponge as soon as you unpack this set.
- Brush Cleaner- I loved using this to clean my brushes. I used it to clean some dirty brushes, and it seriously cut down on my cleaning time.
- Makeup Bag- I love this spacious makeup bag. It is a nylon material, so it is perfect for storing all my dirty brushes as it can be cleaned easily.
This set was a huge hit in my opinion. I am loving the brushes I used, and 2/3 extras were great! I highly recommend this set for beginners and advanced makeup artists alike.
