Hey Beauty Lovers!
I'm so excited to have partnered up with Exuviance to bring you this review*. The Age Reverse HydraFirm Moisturizer has some pretty hefty claims and a high price tag to match. In this review, I will be going over the claims of the moisturizer from the company, and then I will provide my first impressions, my thoughts after using this moisturizer for 8 weeks, and then I will let you know if the moisturizer lives up to the claims. Here we go!
Claims:
- Targets all signs of aging (poor texture, age spots, loss of firmness, wrinkles)
- Formulated with hyaluronic acid which instantly quenches dryness
- Formulated with Prodew which provides the skin with amino acids for its own Natural Moisturizing Factor- this is their own formula that is supposed to restore "deep reservoirs of youthful plumping moisture"
- Formulated with a (patented?) triple firming complex of Maltobionic Acid, NeoGlucosamine, and Matrixyl Peptides- this complex is supposed to target collagen, help with plumping the skin, and fills the skin so that it appears more lifted and firmer
- Formulated with antioxidants to help prevent damage
Ingredient List (from Exuviance):
Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Acetyl Glucosamine, Maltobionic Acid, Octyldodecyl Neopentanoate, Steareth-2, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Octyldodecanol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Silica, Isostearic Acid, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate/VP Copolymer, Cyclopentasiloxane, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Tocopheryl (Vitamin E) Acetate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Serine, Glycine, Glutamic Acid, Alanine, Lysine, Arginine, Threonine, Proline, Saccharide Isomerate, Sodium PCA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Betaine, Cetyl Alcohol, Steareth-20, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Ammonium Hydroxide, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Bisulfite, Parfum (Fragrance), CI 42090 (Blue 1), CI 19140 (Yellow 5).
The directions suggest using this moisturizer in the PM, but I like to use antioxidants in the AM so I have been using this cream in my morning routine. I think it is recommended for the evening since it is a pretty heavy moisturizer, but I don't mind using it in the AM since it absorbs into the skin very well.
First Impressions (Week 1): The moisturizer is pretty thick. It has a luxurious scent, and it is not overwhelming. The product isn't thick enough to clog my pores, but it might be too rich for oily skin types. The moisturizer left my skin hydrated for the whole day, and makeup layered very well on top.
Final Thoughts (Week 8): I think this is a fantastic moisturizer. It provides just the right amount of hydration for my normal skin, and after 8 weeks of use, my skin felt a lot firmer than day one. Since this product is formulated with antioxidants, I really like the hygienic and airtight packaging. I feel that the moisturizer would work well for 30+ skin.
Does this product live up to the claims? Yes! My skin looked at felt fantastic after 8 weeks of use. It is a pricely moisturizer, but I definitely think it is worth the money. I don't think that this product is necessary for skin under 30 years old though, so you might want to save your cash until you actually need a firming skincare product.
