Hey Beauty Lovers!
It's been a few years since I posted a subscription box unboxing, but I was sent the Nourish Beauty Box for September 2019* to share with you guys! I've never heard of the Nourish Beauty Box before, so I was excited to see what they have to offer.
The Nourish Beauty Box is an all natural, vegan, cruelty-free beauty subscription box. They include a variety of 4-5 full sized makeup, skincare, bodycare, and haircare products each month for $30 with free shipping in the US. All the items included in the box are available for purchase on their website, and you can even purchase current and past boxes without a subscription for $45.
There is actually a holiday promo right now on their website! You can get 50% any purchase, except subscriptions, with the code NOURISHME50 (not an affiliate code). If you see any products that you like in this post, you can get it for 50% off right now.
Disclaimer: I use affiliate links in my blog posts. By using one of my affiliate links, I receive a few dollars. This helps support the blog since I do not accept money for product reviews. I never use affiliate links for products that I don't actually recommend. If you feel uncomfortable using affiliate links, please don't feel obligated to click on anything in this blog. You will also see that quite a few products have been sent to me for free. As a beauty blogger, I receive many products each month. I test out each product before giving an honest review. I am not required to include them in any posts, so if you see them show up, I actually like the products.
September 2019 Unboxing:
The first item that I pulled out of the box is the Wyldflower Labs Hawaiian Black Lava Salt Hair Masque. This is supposed to be a hydrating hair mask made with Hawaiian Black Lava Sea Salt, Bentonite Clay, Avocado oil, Safflower oil, Grape Seed oil, Soy oil, Flax Seed oil, Egyptian Geranium oil, Rosemary oil, Lettuce extract, Cucumber extract, Linden Flower extract, and Sage extract.
I have some mixed feelings about this mask. First of all, the jar is absolutely tiny. For $33, I expected a larger jar filled with product. I do understand that this is an indie brand and the ingredient list is truly exceptional, but I don't know how anyone will regularly repurchase this mask at that price point. Second of all, the mask is very difficult to apply. The directions state to apply the mask to wet hair and to cover the hair from root to tip, but I am unable to do that without using half the jar. I must be using it wrong, but I just can't figure out.
All that being said, I absolutely LOVE this mask! I have flat, damaged hair, and this mask completely transformed the texture of my hair. It felt smooth, weightless, and healthy after one application. I really wish that it came with more product.
The second product that came in this box is the Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner. This is a black water-resistant liquid liner with a minimal ingredient list. I have never tried a natural liquid liner before, so I was worried about the color payoff. I am happy to report that this liner is the perfect black!
Not only is this liner super intense, but the felt tip also applies the color effortlessly and the formula doesn't bleed into fine lines. I have never tried anything from Seraphine Botanicals, and I am super impressed so far. I am happy that this eyeliner comes in a standard size because it is $18. If it were a mini size, I would say that the price is too steep, but $18 is a normal price for a liquid liner.
The third product that came in this box is the Nourish Naturals Cocoa Glaze in “Trance”. This cute lippie is a cocoa butter glossy lip stain (their words, not mine). This product is supposed to heal chapped lips while providing lips with subtle color. It is formulated with Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, and Vitamin E. The Cocoa Glaze is available in four colors, and they are all pretty neutral.
I am obsessing over this lip glaze! It is a nice size for $16, and I actually plan on purchasing some of their other lip products with the 50% off code. They are not joking when they say it will help heal lips. This lippie feels so soothing and hydrating, and the color is so fab for everyday wear. I like to use this product whenever I go out and I don't want to wear a bold lip. It also layers well on top of regular and liquid lipsticks. I am so impressed with the Nourish Naturals brand.
The fourth and final product included in this box is the Peony Cosmetics Butterfly Butter. The Butterfly Butter is a fantastic lip scrub. In addition to sugar granules, the Butterfly Butter is formulated with botanical extracts of Pink Butterfly Bush, Hibiscus and Noni to help nourish the lips. This is a wash-off lip scrub and should not be left on the lips, so please keep that in mind!
I am a little disappointed with the size of this product. It costs $16 on the Nourish Beauty website, but it only comes with 0.24 fl oz! A little does go a long way and the ingredients are fantastic, but I think it should be priced at $5. Even with 50% off, this product is way too expensive.
Overall, I think this was a fantastic box. If you love natural, cruelty-free, and vegan beauty products, this subscription box is for you!
The total value of this box is $82.99, so $29.99 was a great deal! You can still purchase this box for $45, which is also a great price unless you can get the individual products during the 50% off sale.
