>>March 2020 Skin Goals<<

Since I live in NY, March weather is a little unpredictable. Some days are sunny and warm, while other days are snowing and freezing. This time of year always leaves me with dried-out skin and breakouts.

My March skincare routines focused on hydration and acne treatment. The key to preventing dry, flaky skin with acne is all about being proactive. Light hydrating layers is the best way to keep skin healthy during seasonal changes, and frequent exfoliation keeps the pores clear.

If you want to see my March AM and PM skincare routines, keep reading!

>>March 2020 AM Skincare Routine<<

1. Cleanse: I love to start my AM skincare routine with light exfoliation. In March, I used the A'ala Hawaii Kona Cleanse Face Polish*, which is a physical exfoliator. This face polish is very gentle, and it won't damage your skin. I love the fruity scent in the mornings.

2. Exfoliating Toner: Gentle exfoliating toners are a must for my skin. They keep my pores clear and small. I always notice a difference in my pore size when I skip exfoliating toner. I finally finished the Thank You Farmer True Water Light Toner*. I apply this with a cotton round.

3. Essence/Hydrating Toner: Now the hydration begins. The first step to properly hydrated skin is a hydrating essence or toner. Ever since including hydrating toners and the 7 skin method, my skin has been flake-free! I first apply 4 layers of the Medicube Triple Collagen Toner* and then I apply 3 layers of the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner. This combo has been working really well for me, but I am almost out of the Medicube essence.

4. Serum: If you haven't tried Niacinamide yet, you need to get the InstaNatural Niacinamide Serum*.  Niacinimide is a fantastic ingredient for oily, acne-prone prone skin and enlarged pores. This serum is super affordable, and I have gone through two bottles already.

5. Eye Cream: I am in my 30's, and the fine lines around my eyes are getting a little deeper. It's a little upsetting, but I try to remind myself that wrinkles are a natural part of aging. However, I am applying retinol to my eye area twice a day to help prolong the appearance of youth. The Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum* is a fantastic option, but it is pretty expensive. You can find my review for the Murad Retinol Youth Renewal line here.

6. Moisturizer: Back to acne control, I love the Cosrx AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer*. It is perfect for the daytime, and it really helps with oil control. I don't use this moisturizer in the PM because it is way too lightweight. If you have very oily skin, you may enjoy using this twice a day.

7. Sunscreen: As always, my holy grail sunscreen is the Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Sunscreen. I have been using this sunscreen for my face for the last 3 years, and I still love it so much! I don't even know how many tubes I've gone through because my husband and daughter use it too.

>>March 2020 PM Skincare Routine<<

1. Double Cleanse: Since I wear sunscreen every day, I always start my PM routine with a double cleanse. An oil cleanser will help break down dirt and sunscreen, and a water-based cleanser will help remove all traces of the oil cleanser. I have been using the Manyo Factory Pure Cleansing Oil* followed by the Mizon Snail Repairing Foam Cleanser. This combo is hydrating but very effective.

2. Exfoliating Toner: Again, I use an exfoliating toner after cleansing. In the PM I used the Cosrx AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild*. I like this one more than the Intensive version because it is alcohol-free. I use a cotton round for this toner too.

3. Essence/Hydrating Toner: In the PM, I started using three hydrating toners. I realize now that they are out of order in the photo. I first apply one layer of the Astis Elderberry Collagen Deep Hydrating Toner*. Then I apply 3 layers of the Medicube Triple Collagen Toner*, and I end with 3 layers of the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner. I apply them in this order because I always apply my skincare from thinnest to thickest consistency.

4. Sheet Mask: I don't use a sheet mask every night anymore, but when I do, I apply one at this point in my routine. If you are looking for some great sheet mask recommendations, check out the Skincare Reviews Series and the Empties Series tabs at the top of this page. You can start with my March 2020 Sheet Mask Empties post.

5. Serum: Again, I was pretty concerned with breakouts in March, so I used the Cosrx AC Collection Blemish Spot Clearing Serum*. I love how gentle this serum is on my skin, but it still contains enough acne-fighting ingredients to help keep my skin clear. If you can't tell, I'm pretty impressed with the Cosrx AC Collection. You can see my full review of the line here.

6. Eye Cream: See my AM routine for my thoughts on the Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum*.

7. Moisturizer: I like to use a very rich cream for my PM moisturizer. If you don't get dry skin, you should stick to a lightweight moisturizer for both the AM and PM. I have been loving the Atopalm Moisturizing Skin Revitalizing Complex*. It provides intense hydration, and my skin feels comfortable all night long.

8. Sleep Mask: I always love to layer a sleep mask on top of my moisturizer. This gives my skin that extra boost of hydration that it needs. I love the Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask*, but it is way too expensive for me. If you have the money, I definitely recommend it!

>>Final Thoughts<<

Overall, my skin really enjoyed my routines. I didn't experience any breakouts, and my skin didn't end up a flaky mess when the weather turned freezing.

Since I loved these routines so much, I only changed out a few products for my April routines.
