Olaplex No.0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment Review

Hey Beauty Lovers!

I post a lot about skincare and makeup, but I have recently been getting some DMs asking me to talk about the products I use for my hair.

Some background about my hair...

I have very fine, very flat, and heavily dyed hair. I have been a boxed blonde for the last 16 years, so let's just say that my hair is pretty damaged. On top of that, I have absolutely no time to get haircuts, so my split ends are a little out of control.

For my hair care routine, I use the Bumble and Bumble Bond-Building Repair Shampoo and Conditioner whenever I shower (usually every day). I also use the Bond-Building Repair Treatment once a week in place of a conditioner. In addition to my weekly treatment, I also like to use the Moroccanoil Mending Infusion Styling Hair Serum when my hair is dry.

I will be posting reviews for each of the products mentioned over the next few months.

Today, I will be talking about an amazing hair treatment that I use once a month. If you have any type of hair damage, this treatment is a must!

Olaplex No.0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment

About once a month, I like to use the Olaplex No.0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment ($28). This treatment is actually the first step of a 2-step system. The second step is the Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector ($28 for the full-sized bottle). Since this is a 2-step system, you actually need the second step if you want to add the Olaplex No.0 to your hair care lineup.

To explain the No.0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment, let's first talk about the No.3 Hair Perfector.

The No.3 Hair Perfector is a weekly hair treatment that helps strengthen and repair damaged hair. It is supposed to be applied to damp hair, and it should be left on for at least 10 minutes. Then you need to shampoo and conditioner as you normally do, and move about your life with fabulous hair. For extremely damaged hair, you can use the No.3 Hair Perfector up to three times a week. No.3 can be used as a stand-alone treatment for damaged hair repair.

So why do you need the No.0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment? Why do you need it if No.3 can be used on its own?

If you have already tried No.3, you are in for an amazing treat.

The No.0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment is actually a primer for No.3 that will jump-start the repairing process and help repair the damage deeper within the hair strand.

Remember how No.3 needs to be applied to damp hair?

No.0 is what makes the hair damp in the 2-step system.

To use the system, you first spray No.0 onto the hair until it's saturated. Then you need to wait 10 minutes before applying No.3 right on top. After No.3 is in the hair, the directions follow the same as using No.3 alone.

The results?

Absolutely perfect hair!

Due to the other products I use on a regular basis, I only need to use the Olaplex treatment once a month. This is enough for my hair, but you may need to use it more often depending on your hair's damage level.

The bottle of No.0 lasts 3-6 applications, but No.3 lasts a lot longer. So please keep that in mind when purchasing.

Some tips for using the Olaplex treatments:

  1. Brush your hair well before applying No.0
  2. If you have very thick hair, divide it into sections and apply No.0 until each one is saturated
  3. Comb through your hair after applying No.3
  4. Try to leave No.3 on your hair for at least 20 minutes before washing it out

Final Thoughts

After using the Olaplex No.0 and No.3 system for a few months, I can say that my hair has never looked better!

I am officially hooked on these two products and I will be repurchasing them as long as they are available.

I hope you found this post helpful. If you do try the Olaplex system, please let me know your experience in the comments section, I would love to hear from you!
