Amazon Luxury Beauty Box 2016 *Updated 2-27-17

I'm finally back to Blogging after taking a little over a year off. For my first post in 2017, I'm going to be unboxing the Amazon Luxury Beauty box. This box costed $19.99 with shipping, and you then get a $19.99 amazon credit to be used on luxury beauty items. So basically, this box was free! I'm always down for receiving free samples of beauty products! I think the items in the boxes varied between customers, so I will be unboxing mine for anyone interested.

Here is the box opened:

Right away I noticed a full sized Julep nail polish which got me really excited! And I can see an Ahava hand cream!

Of course I just had to show the nail polish first. I believe that the color for this polish varied between the boxes, but I'm really happy with the one I got. This is a full sized Julep polish in the color Steph: Boho Glam ($14). The site describes this color as a coconut cream iridescent shimmer. It claims to be fast drying and made with their Oxygen Technology and green coffee extract. Supposedly, this formula helps your nails breath and provides antioxidants. I'm a little skeptical about these claims. Don't mind the dirty bottle in the picture, at this point I have already painted my nails!

Next we have the mini sized Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Handcream ($10). This product contains which hazel extract and allantoin which claim to be very moisturizing, even for very chapped hands. I'm actually really excited to get this hand cream during the winter time, and I will probably start using it right away. The scent is a little odd, but it doesn't seem to linger once absorbed.

Next we have a product that I've never heard of before: Phyto Specific deep repairing cream bath ($39 for the full size at Sephora). We got a very small sample size of 1oz. This product is a hair mask for over-processed hair. This will be great to try out on my color treated hair. Sephora says to use it once a week, but I think this sample will only last one time, so we will see how my hair feels after only one use. Another great selection for a winter box.

Next we have a tiny sample of MDSolarSciences Daily Anti-aging Moisturizer with SolSci-X ($25 for 0.5oz at Sephora). The sample we received was 0.25oz. I like that they included a moisturizer with SPF 30 to use in the winter, because I always include SPF in my skincare routine year round. I'm not sure how many uses we will get from this tiny sample.

Next we have a sample of Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener ($48 for full size). I've never tried anything from this company before, but I'm really excited to try this primer. The site says it is supposed to even out skin tone and give it a glow. The size is pretty small (0.24oz) but a little usually goes a long way with primer.

Next we have a sample of Meaningful Beauty Cindy Crawford Skin Renewing Peel  ($4 for the sample size on Amazon). This product is a lactic acid chemical peel, and you are supposed to use it like a 10 min mask. It claims to help with uneven texture and it will help brighten the skin.  If you are new to chemical peels, you may notice an intense burning sensation. This sensitivity goes away with continued use. My skin is pretty used to chemical peels, so I don't expect too much discomfort. I will definitely be trying this sample out.

The next product is an Obliphica Professionals Seaberry Hair Serum ($38 for 65ml at Birchbox). This sample comes with 15ml, but usually serums last a pretty long time. I would normally be thrilled to try out a hair serum, but sadly this product is for medium to coarse hair. I will probably give this sample to my mother to try. She has course damaged hair, and I really think she will love it. They do have a fine hair version online if anyone is interested.

I'm actually pretty excited to see a mini Marvis toothpaste in this box. I have been wanting to try Marvis for a while now, but I've been worried about how my sensitive teeth and gums would react. I got the Marvis Classic String Mint toothpaste in my box ($10.50 for 3.5oz at Sephora). I am a little disappointed that I didn't get the cinnamon version, but if I like the sample I will definitely try some other flavors.

The next product is from La Roche-Posay and it is their Redermic R anti-aging concentrate- intensive ($56.99 for 10z at Ulta). This is a pretty small sample (0.17oz) so I will probably get a week trial of this product. I'm actually really excited to try out this brand, but since I'm currently pregnant, I will have to wait to use this retinol based product. I don't normally use retinol in my skin care, but this is supposed to be very potent. If you are worried about irritating your skin with this product, there are also ingredients to help calm discomfort so I would give it a try.

Of course no beauty regiment is complete without an eye cream. Next up we have a sample of Skin & Co Roma Truffle Therapy Restructuring Truffle Eye Contour Concentrate ($66 for 0.5oz). This sample is 0.17oz which is pretty generous for an eye cream sample. I have never heard of this company, but I am more than willing to try this sample out. I have some fine lines and dryness around my eyes, so I will be putting this product to good use.

Next up we have a CC cream. Currently I m using a CC cream by It Cosmetics that I really love for daily wear, but I will put that one on hold for about a week to try this sample out. The product is Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream in Natural Glow ($39 for 1.7oz at Ulta). This is the same price as my current CC cream, so I will see which one I like better. I'm worried that the shade will be too light on me, but I have some Cover Fx custom color drops that I can use to darken it. I really love anything with SPF and anti-aging properties. The only con is that the SPF for the It Cosmetics CC cream (SPF 50) is higher than this one (SPF 30), but maybe it will be good for the winter.

The next product is a makeup removing wipe that exfoliates and moisturizes the skin. The NuFace Prep-N-Glow is sold at Sephora for $20 ($1/sheet). The sheets are individually wrapped so they do not get dried out once the package is opened. This sample comes with one sheet to try out. I use makeup removing wipes every night, but I think I will save this one for a day I have on full glam makeup.

Next we have the Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil from Elizabeth Arden ($28 for 3.4oz). This oil is meant to be used on the face, body, or hair and claims to be moisturizing. I really do enjoy oils that can be used all over the body (like argan, maracuja, and rosehip oil), so I am excited to give this one a try. The tiny bottle it comes in looks resealable, so hopefully it doesn't make a mess in my skincare bin.

Next we have a cologne sample from Calvin Klein called Eternity for Men ($62 for 1.7oz at Sephora). My husband really enjoys getting cologne samples, so he will be happy to see this came in the box. To me it smells pretty manly which I love in a male scent. It might smell diferently once he applies it though.

Next we have a Lacoste perfume sample in L.12.12 Pour Elle Sparkling ($62 for 1.6oz). I don't like the bottle the perfume comes in, but I'm really enjoying the fruity scent. I used to wear a lot of fruity perfumes when I was in high school, so this scent really brings back some nice memories.

Next we have a sample of euphoria by Calvin Klein ($72 for 1,7oz at Sephora). The scent is very deep and sexy which I really love in a perfume. I will definitely be wearing this while it lasts.

Next we have a sample of Cashmere by Clean perfume ($40 for 1oz at Sephora). Again, I really don't like the packaging, but the perfume itself has a nice floral scent. I'm not really a fan of floral, but I have a friend who would love to try this sample.

Next up is a sample of Proraso Shaving Cream in Refresh ($10 for 150ml at Birchbox). None of the men in my family use razors to shave, so I will probably test this out on myself. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't send a sample of the Nourishing shaving cream, but hopefully this one won't irritate my skin.

Next we have the Agave Healing Oil- Oil Treatment sample ($40 for 4oz at Birchbox). This oil is supposed to strengthen and nourish hair, so I'm really excited to be trying it out. Since I won't be using the other hair serum included in this box, I'm happy they sent something that can work for my hair type. For reference, my hair is fine and color treated so it need some extra TLC.

The final sample included in this box is from Vichy Laboratories. I've never heard of this company, but they sent  a sample of their Aqualia Thermal Mineral Water Gel ($31 for 1.69oz at Ulta). It is a facial cream that is supposed to be very moisturizing and work to help the skin protect itself against aggressors. I'm always down to try a new hydrating facial cream, but this looks like a one time use packet. I really wish they sent a larger sample size.

Overall, for $19.99 we got some pretty awesome samples as well as a $19.99 credit to our Amazon account. You can still purchase this box from Amazon here, but you will need a Prime account to get the deal.

*UPDATE 2-27-17

I decided to use the $19 credit from Amazon to purchase the Essie Gel Couture color and top coat set in "Take Me To Thread":
