Hey Beauty Lovers!
As you know, I'm slightly obsessed with sheet masks. I usually stick to higher end masks, but every now and then, I like to give more affordable options a try. I purchased this masks from the dollar section of the MaskSheets site with my own money.
This mask is marketed for sensitive skin, and it claims to repair damaged skin. I decided to test out these claims by using it the day after a chemical peel. My skin feels pretty sensitive and can get irritated easily after a peel, so I was really hoping that this mask wouldn't burn my skin!
Ingredients:
water, glycerin, butylene glycol, alcohol, snail secretion filtrate (7000 ppm), betaine, phenoxyethanol, sodium hyaluronate, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, allantoin, camellia sinensis leaf extract, hamamelis virginiaana (Witch Hazel) extract, morus alba bark extract, 1,2-hexanediol, propanediol, caprylyl glycol, illicium verum (anise) fruit extract, carbomer, triethanolamine, xanthan gum, disodium EDTA, ethylhexylglycerin, fragrance
Directions:
Apply the sheet mask after cleansing the skin. Leave the mask on for 20-30 minutes. After removing the mask, gently pat the remaining essence into your skin. For best results, use 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks.
How I Used This Mask:
After double cleansing, I applied rose water, essence, and serum. I then applied this sheet mask, and left it on for 30 minutes. I pat the remaining essence into my skin, and I followed up with moisturizer. I only have one of these masks, so I will not be testing it out over the course of a month.
What I Liked About This Mask:
- Great fit for my face, and it stayed put the entire 30 minutes
- Made with Snail Secretion Filtrate
- Successfully calmed my irritated skin after a chemical peel
- Didn't make me break out
- Unbleached cotton sheet- I'm not usually a fan of cotton sheets, but this one was actually very comfortable
- Instant results
- Affordable
Side Note:
Taking the mask out of the packaging, the first thing I noticed were black specks all over the sheet. Of course I freaked out, but after inspecting the packet, I noticed that it does have the following statement:
"This mask sheet is made by NON-bleached fabric which contains cottonseeds."
I assumed that the black specks were cottonseeds, and I really hope they weren't insects. Needless to say, I had anxiety the entire time that the mask was on my face. The mask did feel very soothing, and my skin looks surprisingly refreshed when I took it off.
Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of this TonyMoly mask!
