JayJun | Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches Review

Hey Beauty Lovers!

Eye patches are one of my favorite Korean beauty products that I discovered during my time as a beauty blogger.

I have tested so many different eye patches over the last 5 years, but I keep coming back to these beautiful pink patches from JayJun.

I first tried the JayJun Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches in 2019, and this is now the third jar that I purchased myself!

Let's get right to the review...

JayJun Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches

The Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches are a fantastic treat for tired-looking eyes. Roselle, aka hibiscus, helps brighten the eyes, even out skin tone, and is calming and firming. That means that these patches are great for revitalizing the under-eye area and anti-aging!

Product Claims:

  • Brightening
  • Anti-aging
  • Hydrating
  • Revitalizing
  • Sticks to the skin well (won't slide down)
  • A cooling treat for the eyes

Key Ingredients:

  • hibiscus flower extract (roselle)
  • orange flower extract
  • elderberry flower extract
  • tiger lily extract
  • magnolia flower extract
  • coconut extract
  • pine leaf extract
  • niacinamide

Full ingredients list:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Potassium Chloride, Tripropylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract, Sambucus Nigra Flower Extract, Lilium Tigrinum Extract, Plumeria Rubra Flower Extract, Magnolia Liliflora Flower Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Pinus Sylvestris Leaf Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract(0.2%), Saururus Chinensis Extract, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Sucrose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Calcium Chloride, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Cellulose Gum, Chondrus Crispus Powder, Allantoin, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Calcium Lactate, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, CI 77491, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Fragrance, Chlorphenesin

The Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches come in a standard eye patch jar. There is a white plastic insert that prevents the patches from drying out and it also holds the little spatula that comes with the patches.

I am so in love with the pretty lid! Considering all the botanical ingredients, the flower theme is so apropos. Plus it is giving me some major Spring/Summer vibes.

This whole photoshoot is reminding me of iced matcha lattes and hibiscus refreshers from Starbucks...

Ok, back to the review...

To remove an eye patch, use the spatula to carefully separate the gel patches and lift one out of the jar.

Warning! Be careful when taking the eye patches out with the spatula. The patches can rip and/or slide right onto the floor.

Apply the patches to the under-eye area after cleansing and toning the skin. Leave them on for 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend taking this time to meditate, I highly recommend the Plum Village App for free guided meditations. After the time is up, simply remove the patches and gently pat the serum on your skin. Follow up with the rest of your skincare routine, do not rinse off the serum.

As I mentioned in the introduction, this is my third jar of these patches. I absolutely love them, and I always try to pick up a backup jar whenever I find them on sale. Once I open a jar, I try to use them up within two months. That way I can see the brightening and revitalizing benefits of the patches. Use these consistently and you will be very happy with the results!

Tips:

  • Instagram skincare influencers like to apply a wash-off mask on their faces while wearing eye patches. Please don't do this. You do not want to wash off the serum after taking these patches off. Instead, you can apply a sheet mask on top of the eye patches.
  • These patches can also be used on smile lines and forehead lines, not just the under-eye area!
  • Keep the jar of patches in the fridge if you suffer from under-eye bags. The cool gel will feel amazing and help reduce puffiness.
  • Stock up when these go on sale! There are only 30 pairs in each jar and you are going to want to use these often...

If you have any puffiness or dryness under your eyes, you are going to love these eye patches. I recommend these over some of the other patches on the market, their quality is unbeatable in this price range!

Please skip these eye patches if your skin is sensitive to added fragrance. These may irritate your skin or make your eyes water.
