For the Month of June, I decided to do a 30 day mask challenge. I will be applying a facial mask to my skin during my PM routine every day this month. I will be posting this challenge in two parts, and each will include 15 days worth of masks.
Rules:
- No sheet masks- I will be doing a sheet mask challenge in July
- No glycolic acid masks- I don't want to be over exfoliating my skin since I will be using my PTR Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads right before the mask step in my skincare routine
- No sleeping masks- this is cheating!
- Max of 2 clay masks/week- I don't want to dry out my skin by using too many clay masks
- Max of 1 Power Bright treatment/week- This at home facial is very strong and I don't want to overdo it
- Don't use the same type of mask 2 days in a row (i.e. clay, peel-off, mud...)
Let's get started!
Day 1: Ole Henriksen Power Bright 3-Step Professional Brightening System- be prepared to see this mask once a week! I like to use half the product in each step once a week, so the box actually lasts me 12 weeks. This mask takes a long time and requires 3 steps, but my skin will look so bright for a full week!
Day 2: Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask- I really like to use this soothing mask after wearing a full face of makeup. I apply the cucumber mask after rinsing off my nightly AHA peel, and it feels so refreshing on my skin! I really feel that my skin hasn't been breaking out as much when using this mask after a whole day of makeup. I did notice today that I am running dangerously low on this mask. I just checked for an alternative cooling/cucumber mask on Ulta, and I found some interesting masks on sale. I will be doing a mini brand haul aka buying like 8 masks from the company, and using them in this challenge. I will link the full reviews once they are up on my blog, so stay tuned!
Day 3: Philosophy Purity Made Simple Pore Extractor mask- I started to see two little white heads this morning, so I decided to use this clay mask that really sucks out all the gunk from your pores. I left the mask on a little longer than I should have, but when I washed it off my face wasn't dried out. I was left with beautiful smooth and clear skin. This is one of my favorite masks, and it never lets me down. When I wake up in the morning, I know my mini breakout will be clear.
Day 4: Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Mask- My skin was still feeling a little congested, so I decided to use this hydrating and clarifying mud mask. I left this on for over an hour because I lost track of time, but this mask never dries my skin out. This is one of my all time favorite masks, and I always keep a backup jar in my extra product bin.
Day 5: I Dew Care Disco Kitten Illuminating Diamond Peel-Off Mask- This is a really fun peel off mask. It is a white glittery mask that makes you look like a disco ball alien. Once it's dry, you just peel off the mask. I love peel off masks because they are so easy to remove. I do like to rinse my skin after peeling it off though. This mask really gives your skin a glow that lasts through the next day. I only have one complaint about this mask. The jar packaging makes the mask application super messy. I wish they sold this mask in a tube. Read my full review!
Day 6: Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores- I'm giving a presentation tomorrow morning, so I needed to use my Origins mask. I love this clay mask so much! It never breaks me out, and my pores look clean and microscopic. I actually received my new masks that I ordered from Ulta. I was thinking of using one of them tonight, but I didn't want to get any new breakouts before my presentation. I will definitely be using one tomorrow night!
Day 7: Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask- as promised, I used a new face mask from my ulta haul today! I'm really excited to be trying out the Formula 10.0.6 masks. They have great reviews, and the masks I purchased have fantastic ingredients. Today I chose the Pores Be Pure mask because I wore a full face of makeup for my presentation. I really don't want to get any breakouts, so I figured this mask would be perfect. I'm happy you say that my skin is now glowing! I'm really loving this mask, and I can't wait to try the others. I will do a full review for this mask and link it here.
Days 8-15:
Day 8: Formula 10.0.6 Be Berry Clear Illuminating Peel Mask- I didn't really have congested skin, but my skin was feeling a little dull. I really love peel-off masks, so I was excited to try this one. I woke up with bright and clear skin, so I definitely think this mask was worth the $7. Read my full review here!
Day 9: Formula 10.0.6 Keep Your Cool Skin-Calming Gel Mask- I spent the day in the sun, so I decided to give this mask a try. It was very calming and I woke up with smooth skin! I think it might actually replace my PTR cucumber mask. It is insanely inexpensive compared to PTR, and my skin loves it! Read my full review here.
Day 10: Ole Henriksen Power Bright 3-Step Professional Brightening System- I usually use this mask on Friday night, but I was traveling and I forgot to bring it with me! I really look forward to this mask every week. It works so well, and it is totally worth the money.
Day 11: Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Mask- I went to a wedding tonight, so I decided to use this mask to really clean out my pores. My pores were invisible after washing it off. I need to get a backup of this mask, I honestly can't live without it.
Day 12: Formula 10.0.6 Be Berry Smooth Moisturizing Peel Mask- My skin has been feeling pretty clear lately, so I decided that it would be a good time to try the Be Berry Smooth mask. This peel off mask actually smoothed out my skin and made it very soft! I'm happy that I tried this mask. Read my first impressions here!
Day 13: Formula 10.0.6 Be Berry Fresh Balancing Mud Mask- Going along with the Be Berry theme from yesterday, I decided to try out the Be Berry Fresh mask tonight. I was pretty surprised by how much I loved this mask. My skin is feeling smooth and bright. I'm really impressed with the Formula 10.0.6 masks so far. I will be doing a full review of this mask, and I will link it here!
Day 14: Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Mask- I actually really enjoy this mask. It is a lot of fun, and feels very luxurious to slather gold onto your face! I don't use this mask often enough to notice any anti-aging effects, but my skin does look temporarily lifted for a day.
Day 15: Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask- I decided to wear makeup today, so I wanted to use a mud mask to keep my skin clear. I actually really enjoyed this mask, and I will be using it more often!
So far I am really loving the way my skin looks and feels. I think the masks that I chose for this month's skincare challenge are very effective, and I can't wait to check in at the end of the month!
